West Penn Allegheny Radiation Oncology Network Staff
As physicians, we are committed to academic medicine. We continually expand our own knowledge base, as well as share our expertise with others. Allegheny General's radiation oncology program utilizes every means available to study, analyze and improve outcomes by teaching - and being taught. We believe that this evidence-based medicine approach garners optimal outcomes for our patients today, and our patients of tomorrow.
The radiation oncology program regularly participates in Allegheny General's Continuing Medical Education Program, which allows physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to learn about recent advancements in their fields. In addition, our radiation oncologists travel throughout the United States and other countries to present their findings, cases and experiences to their colleagues and other health-care professionals.
In our efforts to afford medical students and resident physicians unparalleled opportunities to build a solid foundation for their professional careers, the residency program at Allegheny General allows young men and women to practice side-by-side with leaders in their fields while acquiring experience with the most sophisticated radiation oncology technology available. It aims to develop well-trained competent, caring and compassionate radiation oncologists who can function at a high level independently in any clinical setting and become experts in utilizing the entire spectrum of radiotherapeutic techniques.
