Dr. Colonias was named an attending radiation oncologist at Allegheny General in 2001, after completing four years of residency training at AGH. He is highly skilled in the use of three-dimensional treatment planning, stereotactic radiosurgery and Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). Dr. Colonias also has a strong interest in clinical research, presenting numerous topics in lung cancer and prostate cancer at national and international meetings and publishing several manuscripts and abstracts.
A graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1996, Dr. Colonias completed an internship at The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and received an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University.
Dr. Colonias also has special interests in residency training and implementing new technologies in the multimodality treatment of cancer. He is a member of the American College of Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiology, American Medical Association, Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
